Nobody drifts into the question of suffering — we are dragged into it. A diagnosis, a funeral, a phone call at midnight. And when we arrive, the polished answers we once repeated suddenly sound thin. That is not a failure of faith. It is the beginning of an honest one.
The gospel does not begin by explaining suffering; it begins by entering it. The central claim of Christianity is that God did not stay distant from pain — He took on flesh, wept at a tomb, and bled on a cross. Whatever else we do not know, we know that God knows what it feels like.
This changes how we sit with hurting people. We do not rush to reasons. We bring presence, meals, silence, and the steady promise that sorrow is real but not final. The empty tomb is God's last word on every grave.
If you are in the middle of it right now: you are not forgotten, you are not being punished, and you do not have to perform strength here. Bring your why. We will carry it with you.
